Goal of the programme: to provide the knowledge and skills required for the prevention, diagnosis and management of the acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury affecting patients of all age groups with a full spectrum of undifferentiated physical and behavioural disorders.

- CONTENT OF THE PROGRAMME
The curriculum covers theoretical knowledge (lectures, workshops), practical skills and expertise which emergency physicians must achieve.
- STUDY OUTCOMES
System-based core knowledge appropriate to the management of patients presenting with undifferentiated symptoms and complaints.
CPR skills, airway management skills, analgesia and sedation skills, breathing and ventilation management skills, circulatory support and cardiac procedures, diagnostic procedures, ENT procedures, gastrointestinal procedures, genitourinary procedures, musculoskeletal techniques, neurological procedures, obstetric and gynaecological procedures, ophthalmic procedures, transportation of the critically ill patient, wound management.
Patient care, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, professionalism, ethical and legal issues, organisational planning and service management, education and research.
Test: written, oral and practical examination. Residency state exam.
Study language: Latvian.
