Goal of the programme: to ensure acquirement and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accordance with requirements of the specialty of orthodontics; to train doctors for certification in the specialty of orthodontics.

Eligibility: dentist diploma and certificate in basic speciality.


Theoretical education is based on theoretical seminars. According to the study programme length certain number of seminars are organized. Practical education in a form of study courses according to the programme.


Knowledge and understanding in general in orthodontics, which complies to orthodontic specialty requirements and to avant-garde of scientific and professional fields providing basis for creative clinical and partially scientific thinking.

Skills to use the knowledge for solution of orthodontic problems independently. To explain causal relationship on maxillofacial and skeletal anomalies' aetiology and its severity and to apply appropriate treatment.

Competencies to diagnose symptoms and syndromes of dentofacial and craniofacial anomalies, to identify dental and skeletal components, to identify aetiology, pathogenesis and severity in children, adolescents, and adults.


Reference once per month; assessment after each study course (in written form); study result assessment twice per year (December/January and before the end of the study year) – clinical case analysis (in oral and written forms); Residency state exam – defence of research work, analysis of 5 clinical cases to which treatment was started, processed, and finished by residents themselves
