Goal of the programme: to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills according to pediatric oncohematology specialty standards and demands; to prepare for professional certification in pediatric oncohematology specialty according to Latvian Republic regulations.
Eligibility: MD degree, degree of Paediatrician
- CONTENT OF THE PROGRAMME
Theoretical and practical education; training in specific oncohematological manipulations in children of different age; training in work with parents, interdisciplinary training in pediatric radiology, transfusiology, laboratory medicine, intensive care, genetics, hematopathology, immunology and related specialties – adult hematology and oncology.
- STUDY OUTCOMES
Acquisition of extensive and many-sided theoretical and practical knowledge in pediatric oncohematology.
Practical skills in examination of pediatric patients with various hematological and oncological diseases, in differential diagnostics (including hematological morphology), in carrying out manipulations specific for pediatric oncohematology, in modern treatment of pediatric hematological and oncological disorders, in communicating with patients and their parents and with colleagues, in teaching and research, in logistics.
Independently working skilled highly trained pediatric oncohematologist with broad theoretical and practical experience.
Test: an exam with a group of experts at the conclusion of residency that includes presenting of a research results, demonstration of for practical skills, oral and written test for theoretical knowledge with 3 theoretical questions and 2 situational problems. Residency State exam.
