Wrap-up

Participants are asked to come prepared for the Seminar in two ways:

  1. Each participant should bring with them a topic that they would like to teach or may be called upon to teach. This may be something that they are actually going to teach or just a topic they would like to share with the group. For example, it could be how to listen to heart sounds or it might be something they want to teach everyone about the history of their home town. They should just have a topic they want to teach about. Participants will be taught use this topic to practice various teaching formats.

  2. Each participant should also come ready to discuss what they view as barriers to being more effective teachers in their daily lives. What is it about their duties, their students, their institution, their department or maybe most importantly themselves that they feel makes it difficult to become a better teacher than they are.
