On 5 April, RSU will host the fourth International Student Conference Health and Social Sciences. Organised by RSU Student Council, it is the largest student conference in the Baltic States. Last year’s conference with around 400 young researchers presenting their scientific works on healthcare and social sciences attracted over 1000 attendees.
Conference organisers' representative, RSU medical student Artūrs Šilovs highlights the importance of the event: “Same as every year, RSU Student Council is bringing together young researchers to demonstrate students’ engagement in research activities and show that students know how to make use of limited financial possibilities to arrive at recognised results. The international scale of the conference allows us to compare the research level at RSU with that of other European and international institutions. The development potential is certainly enormous, nevertheless it should be noted that we are not lagging far behind our neighbours. This gives us true motivation for future efforts and advancement.”
During the conference, students will be presenting their scientific works on topics divided into a number of sessions, covering almost all sectors of contemporary healthcare – surgery, paediatrics, rehabilitation, radiology, psychiatry and many other, whereas the social block will be represented by political science, communication, economics and law.
The working language of the conference is English.
The official website of the conference contains further details on the agenda and the course of the event. Last year’s conference with over 1000 attendees brought together 400 participants, out of which over 50 were foreign students presenting research results in 11 healthcare and 4 social science sessions.
The annual students’ conference is traditionally held one day before the RSU Scientific Conference, a two day event that brings together experienced and recognised local researchers.
