In the first week of April Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was visited by its cooperation partners who represent RSU at their countries of domicile and attract prospective students therefrom. RSU had organised a number of events for the partners to learn students’ experience at the university, have a closer look at our traditions and understand our values. The attendees particularly appreciated the visit to the Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology (anatomical theatre) guided by professor Māra Pilmane.
As recognised by the Managing Director of the German Education Agency Academic Embassy Lars Zimmermann who is a long-term cooperation partner of RSU, “Although this is not my first visit to RSU, I highly appreciate this possibility to learn about university’s development and meet individuals who work there. I enjoy the hospitality of the university and also Riga which is a beautiful city. As to me, this is a really productive visit – both from personal and professional perspective, and it will definitely promote closer cooperation in the future.”
The event was attended by RSU cooperation partners from Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland and other countries. This was already the second event of such kind organized by RSU – the first meeting with RSU cooperation partners was held in fall 2015 when RSU celebrated its 65th anniversary and 25 years of experience in educating foreign students.
In spring semester our academic community grew larger by 2040 foreign students. As for today international students at RSU represent 50 countries and compose almost one fourth of the total number of RSU students. Our cooperation partners play an important role in recruiting foreign students.
RSU International Department would like to express our gratitude to the director of RSU Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology prof. Māra Pilmane for the capturing tour through the anatomical theatre.
