On Tuesday, 29 April, the RSU Health Express train will travel from Rīga to Tukums and then return back. During the trip students of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) – prospective physicians and healthcare specialists – will encourage passengers to participate in various practical activities by discussing healthcare-related issues and speaking about simple daily activities for the benefit of health. Passengers will be offered to measure their blood pressure, detect their body mass index, as well as to get to know more about their health condition by using various tests.
The RSU Health Express cmpaign, in cooperation with JSC Pasažieru vilciens ("Passenger Train"), is being organised for the second time. The first campaign took place in November 2013 with an aim to share the knowledge acquired at the university with the society by popularising care for own health and health of other people.
The train will depart from Riga Central Station at 9:20 and from Tukums at 10:41.
