From 12 to 16 May RSU hosted the Erasmus Teaching Week 2014: Media, Public and Communication. During that week lecturers from European institutions of higher education delivered lectures to RSU Bachelor and Master level students in English on various topical issues. The Erasmus Teaching Week was organised by Erasmus Office of the Department of Academic and Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Faculty of Communication.
Lecturers from the following institutions participated in Erasmus Teaching Week 2014: Tallinn University (Estonia), Catholic University in Ružomberok (Slovakia), Babeš-Bolyai University (Rumania), Ankara University (Turkey), Universität Konstanz (Germany), Donau-Universität Krems (Austria). Other professionals in the fields of media, communication and public relations also joined this event.
Visiting lecturers delivered lectures on the following topics: media audience, non-traditional forms of public involvement in social media during political protests, street art in Turkey, online culture, relations between public relations and media, and between visual and textual media.
Within the framework of the Teaching Week both students and teaching staff were welcome to participate in lectures. It should be noted that within the Erasmus project RSU has never hosted such a great number of visiting lecturers within a period of one week before.
Erasmus Office hopes that the first Erasmus Teaching Week is a platform for even larger-scale teaching weeks in future.
