The agreement stipulates that cooperation among both institutions will take place in four fields: academic matters, research and innovations, and scientific expertise. Organisations will actively cooperate with an aim to foster the development of knowledge-based society. The agreement has been signed on 6 February 2015.
RSU is among the leading institutions of education and research in the fields of social and communication sciences in Latvia, whereas, the centre aims at developing interdisciplinary cooperation network bringing together think tanks, academic and research institutes from Latvia and abroad, thus enabling to strengthen expertise and providing young and experienced researchers in the field of social sciences with an opportunity to develop innovative projects.
Rīga Stradiņš University is among the most up-to-date internationally oriented institutions of higher education in the Baltics. Year 2015 marks the 65 anniversary of the university. It has been enrolling international students for already 25 years. Alongside medical programmes, students have been acquiring various up-to-date programmes of social sciences for already 16 years. There are 9 faculties at the university, and currently the total number of students constitutes 7120, among them over 1475 international students.
