Viktorija Rogova (4th year student of the Faculty of Medicine) acts as a deputy chairman. Victoria's responsibilities include promoting cooperation and joint activities with the International Student Association in order to contribute to international students' integration and improve their academic, social and cultural environment at the university.
Anija Meiere (4th year student of the Faculty of Medicine) acts as a head of academic direction. Anija ensures students' representation in academic matters, together with her deputies Artūrs Šilovs (2nd year student of the Faculty of Medicine) and Viesturs Levada (2nd year student of the Faculty of European Studies). Anija provides fruitful communication with faculty councillors, student group leaders and students – members of the Senate. The head of the direction most often will cooperate the Vice-Rector for Education and other representatives of the academic personnel.
Tīna Sparāne (3rd year student of the Faculty of Medicine) acts as a head of social direction. Tīna will provide overall environmental improvement. Tīna will be in charge of communication with the representatives of student hostels. She will most often communicate with the Infrastructure Department and the Library.
Zane Dzene (1st year student of the Faculty of Rehabilitation) acts as a head of culture and sports direction. Zane's main responsibility is to promote and organise the sports and culture-related projects of the Student Council and coordinate the coaches of the existing sports teams. Zane will be the main contact person for the Sports Club.
Klāvs Bērziņš (2nd year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy) acts as a head of the financial direction. Klāvs' responsibilities include organising financial and technical matters. He will most often communicate with the Finance Department, and, perhaps, with the Infrastructure Department and the Procurement Department.
Jana Jentkus (2nd year student of the Faculty of Communication) acts as a head of communication direction. Jana will be responsible for information distribution about the Student Council at and outside the university to promote its visibility. Jana will cooperate with the RSU Communication Department on a regular basis. She will be assisted by her deputy Lauma Rikmane (2nd year student of the Faculty of European Studies).
Linda Rubene (3rd year student of the Faculty of Medicine) is the head of internal cooperation and human resources direction. Linda ensures communication and collaboration with students' interest groups, such as RSU choir Riga, RSU Folk Dance Group Ačkups, and student media “Skaļāk”. One of her main responsibilities is to promote successful communication withinin the Student Council and attract new people.
Arkādijs Zvaigzne (2nd year student of the Faculty of European Studies) acts as a head of the foreign affairs direction. Arkādijs' responsibilities include attracting supporters for the events held by the Student Council, establishing new contacts and maintaining old contacts at other universities, and representing RSU students at national level in the Student Union of Latvia, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Health.
Džeina Mežale (6th year student of the Faculty of Medicine) acts as a head of scientific direction. Džeina is in charge of promoting science among students, organising science-related activities at and outside the university. The main area of cooperation for Džeina is with the structural units supervised by the Vice-Rector for Science.
The most important current projects of RSU Student Council include the RSU International Students Scientific Conference which will be held on 25 March and the assessment of RSU academic courses.
The Student Council of Rīga Stradiņš University is elected by the students, and it is an independent, collegiate institution representing students' rights and interests. The Student Council influences the content and the quality of the studies, internal processes and the future progress of the university, promotes sports and culture-related events, a pleasant environment in RSU buildings (including student hostels), RSU patriotism and makes sure that every student has their say and gets heard. Students' representatives participate in the Senate, councils of the faculties, various committees and other bodies requiring students' representation.
The Board of the RSU Student Council (heads of the directions) and its chairman are annually elected by the representatives of Student Council at its first session.
