On Wednesday, 9 March, Rīga Stradiņš University signed a cooperation memorandum with Bogomolets National Medical University, which is among the top universities in Ukraine.
The Cooperation Memorandum stipulates the cooperation of the both universities in various research and academic activities with an aim to foster the collaboration among students and academic staff. Additionally, both universities have undertaken to foster student mobility by providing students with an opportunity to participate in exchange and joint research programmes, summer schools, study courses etc.
Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Matters Yaroslav Volodymyrovych Tsekhmister (Ярослав Владимирович Цехмистер), who currently takes the position of an acting rector, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Research and Academic Matters Olesya Lynovytska (Олеся Линовицька) and director of Postgraduate Education Institute Yuri Kuchin (Юрий Кучин) were among the delegates. As the visit was organised by the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia, the ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia Yevgeni Perebyinis and the second secretary of the embassy Kiril Voronin (Кирилл Воронин) joined the visit. RSU was represented by the rector of the university Prof. Jānis Gradovskis, Vice-Rector for Education Tajana Koķe, Vice-Rector for Science Iveta Ozolanta and Vice-Rector for Development Toms Baumanis, as well as the deans of the faculties.
After signing the memorandum, the guests from Ukraine got acquainted with RSU infrastructure – laboratories, preclinical learning centre for dentistry students, Medical Education Technology Centre and the Anatomical Theatre.
