On 25 April, social sciences students from the Åbo Akademi University (Turku, Finland) paid a visit to RSU within the frame of the student trip organised by the Student Association of the Åbo Akademi University.

Together with local 2nd year students of the programme “International Relations – European Studies”, they took part in the lecture “Russia in Global Politics” delivered by Prof. A. Sprūds. The guests highly appreciated the content of the lecture and found it useful for their further studies.

“We were so impressed by the warm welcome and study facilities offered by RSU,” said Ms Rakel Tiderman, who is in charge of international affairs at the Student Association of the Åbo Akademi University.

RSU International Relations Officer Evita Eglīte gave a presentation about RSU and outlined the directions for international cooperation.

Finally, students from the Åbo Akademi University had a meeting with RSU students from Finland. At the end of the visit Ms Tiderman concluded that “The trip to Riga was very interesting and we will certainly come back again.”

The visit to RSU was organised by RSU International Department. Besides RSU, students also visited the Embassy of Finland, the former KGB (Committee for State Security of the Soviet Union) building, the Saeima (parliament) building and met the members of parliament. The Åbo Akademi University is the only Swedish-speaking university in Finland.
