On 4 December, teaching and general staff of RSU as well as students will take part in eccumenical Thanksgiving service for expressing gratitude and saying goodbye to the deceased people who donated their bodies to medicine studies and science. The service will be held at the RSU Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology.
On 28 November, during the meeting of the Constitutional Assembly, RSU rector’s elections were held.
Upon participation of 122 members of the Assembly, Professor Jānis Gardovskis was re-elected rector of RSU, having received received 70 votes, while 51 members of the Constitutional Assembly voted in favour of professor Jānis Vētra.
Upon the decision of the Latvian Chapter of Orders, this year three staff members of Rīga Stradiņš University have received the highest state award for merits for the state, among them Professor Jānis Gardovskis, rector of RSU, Halina Irēna Jodzēviča, Assistant Professor of the Department of Orthopedics, and Dace Tropa, lecturer of Faculty of Continuing Education.
On November 28, the elections of rector of Rīga Stradiņš University will take place. Rector is elected by RSU Constitutional Assembly and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia for a five year term. Two candidates have applied for the position.
On 12 November, associate professor David Kachlík of Charles University in Prague will read a guest lecture in the subject of Human Anatomy. The theme of the lecture is "Deep muscles of the back. Posture of human body. Anatomy of good and poor posture. Complications of poor posture. Groups of muscles providing posture of the body. Morphology and function of the foot. Dissection method in anatomy".
