Four students of Rīga Stradiņš University have signed a contract about receiving Honours scholarship for the Alumni Association of RSU and SIA “Veselibas centrs 4”, a medical centre.
In the maternity house, which is where RSU's department of obstetrics and gynecology is located, the first practical training on the newly gained study puppets or moulages, which were obtained with the support from Boriss and Ināra Teterevs’ Foundation, of year 4 students took place. In the future the moulage will be used to help students of medicine acquire practical knowledge in child labour.
On 3 December 2010 the annual Intercultural Evening took place at RSU with more than 70 international students participating. The programme of the evening included all sorts of various activities, including forming of the Human Map, an Intercultural Quiz and culture presentation by Latvian folk group Laiksne.
Maecenas Mr Boriss Teterevs, the chairman of the Alumni Association of RSU Mr Romans Lācis and the rector of RSU Mr Jānis Gardovskis have signed an agreement of trust, which states the support for health care education in Latvia.
After the first tiresome study weeks everyone needs some time off, therefore, RSU international students went on a field trip to get to know Latvia a little bit better during Indian summer and to forget about their studies for a while. Arguably the best place to go to in September in Latvia is Sigulda, which lies just 50 km away from Rīga.
