The recent visit of the Swedish Ambassador Henrik Landerholm to Rīga Stradiņš University was this year’s closing visit within the programme Meet the Ambassador, an initiative launched this spring by RSU International Department. The Ambassador of Sweden to Latvia Henrik Landerholm and his Second Secretary Johannes Danielsson met with RSU students from Sweden to discuss diverse issues, such as public and cultural life of Swedish community in Latvia, interstate relations, political situation in Europe and the world, etc.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare, Department of Nursing and Midwifery together with four other project participants have launched implementation of the international project: OnBoard-Med, Harmonization of on Board Medical Treatment, Occupational Safety and Emergency Skills in Baltic Sea Shipping to be implemented by 30 June 2019.
To facilitate student mobility, Riga Stradiņš University welcomed a delegation from Beijing Institute of Technology on 25 November. The visiting delegation comprised Wang Ying, Director of the International Students’ Department, Li Jianghong, Head of the International Students Office, and Zhu Weihua, Exchange Programme Coordinator.
On Monday, 28th of November at 17:00 the RSU Faculty of European Studies will host a guest lecture of the US inventor Alan Amron “45 Years’ of Experience in Business and Product Invention”. The students are provided with a unique opportunity to listen to the experience and ask questions to the inventor and the author of multiple patent-protected inventions. Mr. Alan Amron has invented and patented around 40 innovative solutions, including „Press-On-Memo” sticky notes.
On Tuesday, 29th of November at 9:00 in the premises of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, on the 5th floor of the Doctor’s House (Ebel Auditorium) the visiting lecturer at the RSU Faculty of Continuing Education, the professor of the University of Washington and the director of the Intensive Care Unit of St. Louis Children’s Hospital Prof. Matthew Goldsmith will give a lecture: "Critical illness – how to manage a life changing event for child and family?"
