prof lacis enu dienasAmong the 3000 people that agreed to be shadowed this year, there were also alumni of RSU. The competition for being a shadow for RSU alumnus was high, and the most severe competition developed for Prof. Romāns Lācis, Chairman of the Board of RSU Alumni Association, Head of Heart Surgery Centre at Pauls Stradiņš University Hospital (73 applications), followed by the unit manager of the same center – Mr Pēteris Stradiņš (68 applications) and a doctor of Intensive Care Unit at the Pauls Stradiņš University Hospital – Indulis Vanags (32 applications). The shadows of Heart Surgery Centre at Pauls Stradiņš University Hospital were among the first to learn about the already planned 9th heart transplantation of Latvia, which was done at night form February 16th to 17th under the guidance of Prof. Lācis.

Among the local shadows we were happy to see an exchange student Lina from Germany.

Rīga Stradiņš University offered  27 shadowed posts Several RSU alumni participated in the shadow day through different organisations. RSU Alumni Association expresses sincere gratitude to every graduate who devoted their time for helping the youth of Latvia discover the right way of choosing their future profession.
