Admission Requirements and Criteria for the Doctoral Study Programme “Political Science”

  1. Study Programme: Political Science
  2. Discipline: Social sciences.
  3. Attainable qualification and/or degree: doctoral degree or certificate on completion of the doctoral study programme.
  4. Duration of studies: 3 years
  5. Type of Studies: Full-time studies
  6. Required documents:
    • Application (on a special form)
    • Applicant’s questionnaire (on a special form)
    • Copy of the passport (the original of the passport must be presented)
    • Four identical photos (size- 3x4 cm)
    • The Copy of Master’s diploma or the equivalent degree diploma (the original must be presented);
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV), including the list of scientific publications;
    • The doctorate advisor’s Curriculum Vitae(CV), indicating the number of scientific publications and the number of doctoral students who have completed a scientific degree;
    • The copies of the documents {the original has to be presented) which certify attendance of courses, seminars, participation in conferences and seminars (if such are present)
    • The copies of publications (if such are present);
    • A document which confirms the payment of the document registration fee;
    • An abstract of the planned scientific research signed by the doctorate advisor according to the following structure:
      • The applicant’s name, surname;
      • The title of the planned scientific research work;
      • The doctorate advisor for the planned scientific research ( the second doctorate advisor, a scientific consultant, if such are involved);
      • Justification of the choice of the theme and its topicality;
      • Scientific novelty of the research;
      • The aim of the research;
      • The objectives of the research;
      • Work hypothesis;
      • Theoretical basis for the research;
      • Research methods and criteria for the selection of research material;
      • Material supply required for the research;
      • Possible collaboration with the scientists from other countries in the course of the research project;
      • Scientific work (scientific publications (with the evaluation from the RSU Library) in connection with the planned promotion work; presentations of the reports on the topic of the planned scientific research at conferences; poster presentations at conferences; conference theses; participation at international, LZP, RSU and other higher education institution research projects in connection with the planned promotion work; work experience in the field relevant to the theme of the promotion work or work experience at RSU; internship or studies at higher education institutions or research institutions in foreign countries).
  7. The required previous education for admission to the study programme:
    • Master’s degree in social sciences or humanities or an equivalent degree.
  8. Additional admission requirements:
    • Oral defense of the planned scientific research.
  9. Competition evaluation criteria: Applicants are matriculated to the study programme “Pharmacy” in accordance with the results of the competition, which are formed on the basis of the sum of the following assessments:
    • opponent’s assessment;
    • assessment of the scientific work;
    • assessment of the oral defence of the planned scientific research.

If applicants have obtained identical sums of assessments, the competition is influenced by the oral defense of the planed scientific research.
