The study programme Multimedia Communication strives to train students who would become well-educated, highly skilled, competent and competitive multi-media experts, able to work professionally with versatile communication projects and messages. In this programme students have the opportunity to learn how to use multimedia resources in advertising, public relation projects and other areas of business and research.

Aim of Study programme:

Prepare academically trained and professionally qualified media professionals who would be trained to use a variety of media technologies and their expressions in various environments. Based on their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, graduates would be able to realise their ideas in different media of communication areas independently, critically and skilfully, and improve the use of media, research and consulting practice in Latvia and the European Union.

Main objectives of Study Programme:

  • Provide students with information about multimedia communications and teach them skills to use multimedia technologies.
  • Provide students with understanding about the principles of media communication and the economics of mass media.
  • Teach the students to analyse and forecast communication processes in a wider context and learn to work in the field of multimedia communication.

Assessment methods:

At the Faculty of Communications, the module system is used. The length of a course is 5 weeks; usually amounting to 10 classes (6 lectures and 4 seminars). Upon a successful completion of a course, at the end of the 5th week the student takes an exam. An important part of the evaluation and assessment system is participation in lectures, quality of answers in seminars, writing problem essays, passing tests and exams.
