University Health Centre

The University Health Centre (“Ambulance”) is located on the ground floor of Block D, Room 102. Here, the student doctor will always be ready to help, should a need arise. The staff includes two GP’s, a gynaecologist, an infection specialist and a nurse. Here you can receive treatment in case of illness or injury, as well as advice on the prevention of an illness and information on how to improve your health habits. A visit to the doctor is a paid service.

Always remember to bring your health insurance card with you!

Dentistry

The Institute of Dentistry (Stomatoloģijas institūts) of the Rīga Stradiņš University is located right next to the main building of the University, which is the only health care institution in Latvia that covers all fields of dentistry, including:

• adult dentistry, providing services in dental restoration and prosthodontics, dental root canal therapy, healing of periodontal diseases and providing professional dental care;
• oral and maxillofacial surgery, specialising in the treatment of inflammations, traumas, tumours, inherited and obtained deformations, as well as many other surgical procedures;
• tooth restoration, providing restoration of missing teeth and replacement of missing teeth, using a variety of methods and materials to create dentures or implants;
• orthodontics, specialising in the treatment of teeth and jaw deformations and anomalies, as well as straightening teeth before restoration among many other procedures;
• oral pathology, treating facial and mouth soft tissue diseases (bacterial, viral, fungal, vesiculous, eroded, ulcerous, auto immune, etc.);
• x-ray examinations, providing digital x-ray examination of teeth, digital ortopantomography and digital cefalometry.

Sleep Laboratory

Sleep Laboratory at the Rīga Stradiņš University Institute of Dentistry provides the services of diagnostics of breathing disorders linked with sleep, treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), as well as diagnostics and treatment of sleep disorders.
