The academic year at Rīga Stradiņš University begins at the end of August/beginning of September and ends in late June. Generally, there are 40 weeks of lectures, seminars and practical work, divided into autumn and spring semesters.

Academic year 2016/17 ends on 7 July 2017.

Academic year 2017/18 starts on 4 September 2017 and ends on 6 July 2018.

Please note that the Academic Calendar is subject to changes and amendments, and you must be available for studies for the entire academic year. Flight tickets purchased during the study period, i.e., except for official holidays, are NOT a valid reason for missing any classes! According to Paragraph 5.10 of the University Policy, students may be excused from class attendance in plausible cases (serious health issues, death in the family, scientific conference etc.), but you must inform the Dean’s Office and submit documents confirming your absence.

Various:

  • Information week at RSU Library – last Thursday of the month (except June-August).
  • Cleaning day at RSU Library (closed) – last Friday of the month (except January and May-August).
