Who we are

The Association of Norwegian Students Abroad (ANSA) is a non-profit independent organisation voicing the interests of Norwegian students who study abroad. Its aim is to maintain and promote the educational, cultural, political and economic interests of Norwegian students abroad. Currently nearly 21 300 Norwegian students are studying abroad in over 90 countries at over 1200 educational institutions worldwide.

In recent years, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been gaining popularity with young Norwegians who wish to study medicine or dentistry. RSU constitutes the largest Norwegian student body in Latvia and the figures show that about one fifth of all the international students at RSU are from Norway!

As a result of initiative of Norwegian students at RSU, the Latvian branch of the Association, ANSA Latvia, was formed in April 2011. ANSA Latvia is there to provide assistance to Norwegian students, and it also organises various activities in support of the students’ social, cultural, economic and other interests. The events are usually open both for members and non-members.
