Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Study courses of the 1st year of studies have been mastered.
Objective:
To foster the use of theoretical knowledge in practical work. To promote mastering of the selected profession and to check own compliance, preparedness and fitness for the selected profession. To improve research, cooperation and communication skills.
Assessment
Unaided Work:
During the placement the student does: 1. observation; 2. documenting; 3. active practice. Task 1: 1.1. What tasks did you perform during placement? Describe each task: purpose, necessary knowledge and skills. 1.2. How much time and work did you have to devote to the preparation of each task? Task 2: 2.1. How much and for what needs was information prepared, were communication products created during placement? 2.2. What sources did you use for preparation of information? What knowledge and skills did you use for the performance of other tasks? Task 3: 3.1. How many practical tasks have you performed during placement? In what format and in what field were they, what abilities and skills did you use for their performance? 3.2. Please specify here one task, which you believe to be the best (copy its text or link, if possible). Task 4: 4.1. How did you familiarise with the organisation offering you the placement? 4.2. What new have you learned? Task 5: 5.1. What original ideas have you offered during placement? 5.2. How many and which of them have been implemented? 5.3. Description of your best original idea in your opinion? 5.4. What new skills have you mastered during placement? Task 6: What are your considerations about the selected profession after placement?
Assessment Criteria:
During placement the student should fill and submit a computer-printed prepared answers to “Placement tasks”. The developed “Placement tasks” should be submitted as a single “Placement report” document with separate chapters, which should fully correspond to the given tasks. The accuracy and completeness of provided answers to the asked questions will affect the placement assessment. This means that answers to tasks should be provided there after each respective task. Students are not allowed to transform or combine tasks at their discretion. Evaluation of answers to placement tasks. The assessment of placement work consists of: 1. Accuracy of fulfilment of each placement task and comprehensiveness and depth of analysis, as well as compliance with theoretical guidelines. 2. The style of expression and the presentation of the work will be assessed in addition – compliance of “Placement diaries”, “Placement tasks” and their annexes with instructions for presentation of paper works. Attention! Before you start filling a “Placement task”, please prepare a short written description (on 1 page) about the place of placement, its area of operations and other important indicators.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students know how to use theoretical knowledge of the field of communication sciences in practice and its link to professional developments in photography, journalism, multimedia or public relations industries. Know the specifics of work of communication companies, event agencies, television, radio, advertising, public relations and communication departments, different organisations, internet media, broadcasting and printed digital platforms, groups of producers and studios of different media formats, creators of internet projects, creators of art and communication projects.
Skills:Students how to autonomously use the obtained knowledge in multimedia communication advertising and public relations agencies, event agencies, advertising, public relations and communication departments, different organisations, internet media, broadcasting and printed digital platforms, groups of producers and studios of different media formats, creators of internet projects, creators of art and communication projects in work.
