Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge in social sciences at the secondary school level.
Objective:
To develop student comprehension of psychological correlations of interpersonal relationships, importance of successful professional communication in the care process, to promote development and improvement of communication skills in positive cooperation with women, their family and other health care professionals.

Analysis of communication situations, personal experience exercises, role plays, preparation of one study analysis with a presentation.
Assessment Criteria:
Analysis of communication situations, presentation of one study analysis and independent work in classes, by participating in role plays and personal experience exercises.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students obtain knowledge of the communication structure, types, influential factors; understand the professional roles of midwife’s communication in the care process; obtain knowledge of aspects of professional communication; gain knowledge in conflictology.
Skills:Ability to successfully communicate with women and their family members, as well as persons involved in the care process.
Competencies:Students understand the needs of patients in various communication situations during clinical care; understand the preconditions for successful interviewing; differentiate risk factors in development of potential conflicts and required behaviour for successful conflict resolution.
