Preliminary Knowledge:
Biology, ecology.
Objective:
To get an idea of the diversity of nature and its role in the assessment of the environmental situation, with real plants and animals in their natural places of Latvia the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

Unaided Work:
Topics of the placement: The diversity of plant species, and the breakdown of ecological factors affecting habitats in the surroundings of Kolka. The bloodsucker invertebrates – diversity of species, and the breakdown of ecological factors affecting habitats in the surroundings of Kolka. Water quality assessment of National Park Slitere.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:The student will know about ecology and natural processes of ecosystems. Students will be able to name and describe the medicinal and poisoning plants, as well as various animal and insect species. To evaluate the nature and will be able to explain the importance of tourism in promoting public health.
Skills:The student will be able to find and analyze information related to wildlife diversity and the environmental situation in the field.
Competencies:The student will be able to correctly analyse data and interpret results of analysis. Able to assess environmental natural processes within ecosystems, as well as ecological factors affecting them.
