Preliminary Knowledge:
Ancient history.
Objective:
To get acquainted with the oldest history of Riga, the emergence of the first pharmacies in Riga, the connection of the location of pharmacies with the growth and development of the city, the personalities of Riga pharmacists and their contribution to the cultural life of Riga.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Students must independently visit the Latvian History Museum, Museum of Pharmacy, Pauls Stradiņš Medicine history museum.
Assessment Criteria:
1. Participation in discussions on the most interesting and current topics. 2. Successfully written 2 electronic tests. 3. The evaluation of the examination consists of the average evaluation of 2 marks of the tests.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:As a result of the study course acquisition, the student will be able to describe the origins of pharmacy in Ancient Riga.
Skills:As a result of the study course acquisition the student will be able to guide himself in sources of information on the history of pharmacy.
Competencies:As a result of the study course acquisition, students will be able to understand and evaluate the formation of pharmacy in Riga.
