After receiving the Registration Card, you must declare your residence address at the OCMA upon receiving the Registration Card, or in one of the three Municipal Offices in Rīga, depending on the place you live in. (This rule applies only to citizens of EU/EFTA.)

STEP 1: Settle in

Settle in a residence that will be your home for the next few months or years!

STEP 2: Decide how you want to declare your address

Option 1 (Recommended)Declare the place of residence at the OCMA while receiving your Registration Card. You will not need to submit any additional documents – they will declare the address you have indicated in the application form, and you will have to pay a small fee of EUR 4.27.

Option 2Declare your place of residence electronically.

The page under the link is available only in Latvian and authentication must be made via a Latvian internet bank, e.g. Swedbank, SEB Banka, Norvik Banka, Citadele, etc.
STEP 3: Bring a copy of the confirmation of your residence to RSU

Bring a copy of the confirmation of your residence declaration to RSU's Immigration Office in Block K, Room 218!

By declaring your address in Latvia, you will not lose the citizenship of your country, nor will you have to pay a resident tax in Latvia. The declaration of the address is purely for information reasons only, however Latvian authorities take it very seriously. Based on the information you have given, Border Guards may go on rounds to check on you in your declared place of residence, which means that you have to live in the address that you have declared.
Do not forget to bring back a copy of the confirmation of your residence declaration to RSU's Immigration Office!
