Amulya Saxena
Amulya Saxena is the Past President of the European Paediatric Surgeons Association (EUPSA) and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Chelsea Children’s Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Fdn Trust, Imperial College London and Head of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery, Burjeel Hospital, Abu Dhabi. He is the Editor-in‐Chief of the Journal of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery.
His surgical interests are in neonatal surgical procedures, minimal invasive surgery in newborn and paediatric age (laparoscopy and thoracoscopy), paediatric gynecology, gastrointestinal surgery, thoracic surgery, reconstructive surgery, chest wall deformities (pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum) and wound management.

He completed his Paediatric and Neonatal Surgical training in Germany and gained work experience at major tertiary European and American Medical Centres. He was a Research Fellow in Surgery at the Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA and gained further experience in Pediatric Surgery at the Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri, Kansas City, USA, the Hospital 12 de Octubre, Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain, Fetal Centre, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, USA and the Juntendo University Medical School, Tokyo, Japan.
Amulya Saxena has won prestigious European and International awards for his contribution to paediatric surgery. He has presented over 450 papers at International Surgical Conference, authored over 180 articles, written over 75 book chapters and has organized over 60 congresses, seminars and workshops. Amulya Saxena is in the Editorial Board of 8 peer-reviewed Journals and an ad-hoc reviewer for over 30 peer-reviewed journals. He has edited two books, 'Essentials of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery' and 'Chest Wall Deformities'.
He is also an active member in a number of societies, including: European Pediatric Surgeons Association (EUPSA), European Society for Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery (ESPES), British Association of Paediatric Surgeons (BAPS), British Association of Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons (BAPES), Austrian Society of Pediatric Surgery (ÖGKCH), International Society for Paediatric Wound Care (ISPeW) and Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (AAPS).
