Academic Meeting / Honorary Doctorate Degree Ceremony
The traditional Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) Academic Meeting will take place in the RSU Main Hall on Thursday, 8 September, at 14.00. At the meeting, RSU Rector, Prof. Aigars Pētersons, will speak about the University's achievements over the previous academic year and outline the University's future challenges.
After the Rector's presentation, there will be a ceremony at which RSU Honorary Doctorates will be awarded. This year, three Honorary Doctors who were awarded the title on 19 May 2020, will be honoured at the meeting:
- President of Latvia (1999-2007), Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga,
- Vilis Vītols, President of the Council of the Vītols Foundation,
- Zaiga Alksne-Phillips, paediatrician and founder of the Vītolu fonds scholarship foundation.
Location
