It is our greatest pleasure to announce that we are reviving the tradition of the RSU Academic Ball after a several-year-long hiatus!
This year marks the long-awaited, and much-loved traditional ball’s 20th anniversary. The Academic Ball celebrates the RSU community’s contribution to the University, a sentiment also expressed by the ball's motto: Ad honorem artes, scientia, veritas (In honour of art, science, and truth).
We invite all staff and students to attend the RSU Academic Ball and celebrate together!
The RSU Academic Ball will gather RSU students, staff, and special guests to celebrate the University’s achievements. The Annual Awards that will honour the best students, staff, alumni, researchers, and university departments will also be presented at the ball, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. Traditionally, the ball begins with a polonaise, after which participants can spend the rest of the evening socialising and dancing. Bigband Jelgava, Aija Vītoliņa, Mārtiņš Kanters, Zelta vilks and DJ Kārlis Ķilkuts will perform in the venue’s Great Hall and Golden Hall, and there will be different creative activities and masterclasses taking place in the White Hall.
The evening’s hosts will be Ieva Segliņa-Krūzkopa and Edgars Ošleja.
