Scholarships

Latvian state scholarships will be granted to 34 international students from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in the 2022/2023 academic year. The scholarship is granted by the State Education Development Agency (SEDA) of Latvia after a careful evaluation process. This is the largest number of recipients compared to other higher education institutions in Latvia. The University of Latvia comes in second with 23 international students receiving the scholarship.

This year, SEDA received 332 applications from representatives of 35 countries. The SEDA Competent Commission, which is composed of employees from the Ministry of Education and Science, the Student Union of Latvia, and SEDA, reviewed 243 applications that were selected in the first round. The commission assessed the applicants’ academic performance and extracurricular activities, such as participation in scientific conferences and international projects.

A total of 111 scholarships have been granted for studies at institutions of higher education in Latvia, and the recipients come from 26 countries. The majority of them are from Ukraine, followed by Finland (11), Sweden, Germany, Azerbaijan (10 each), the PRC (9), and Kazakhstan (7).
