Project realization
01.09.2025. - 31.08.2028.
Aim
The aim of the project is to develop a complex multifunctional analytical equipment prototype (a system) for biopharmaceutical evaluation of hard-to develop oral medicines.
Description
This innovative system will be used in simultaneous investigation of drug (or active pharmaceutical ingredients, APIs) permeability across ex vivo and artificial membranes with compendial release and/or dissolution. Artificial digestion, including lipolysis and proteolysis will be optionally added to this system, allowing simultaneous research of the impact of artificial digestion on permeability in tandem with compendial drug release/dissolution. System will be applied in biopharmaceutical research of oral dosage forms and will impact multiple current pharmaceutical drug development problems, namely:
- Improve the bioavailability of oral formulations
- Decrease the financial investments in clinical studies
- Increase the success rate and reduce the risks of clinical studies
- Improve the therapeutical outcomes of drug treatment
- Decrease the dose of the drug required to achieve therapeutical effect
- Decrease the amount of non-absorbed drug and its impact on the environment
The project shall be implemented in cooperation with the partner SIA Saint-Tech.
Results
- On 3 June 2025, agreement No. 1.1.1.3/1/24/A/117 with CFCA about the implementation of the project concluded.
