Objective

The course is designed to enable students to acquire basic communicative skills in order to interact with patients.

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge of the Russian language is required.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• recognize the lexis of the course communication topics
• name parts of the body,
• describe the state of a patient,
• recognize the common grammar structures of verbs and nouns.

Skills

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• perceive simple information for themselves,
• provide oral information about themselves, studies, daily routine,
• ask and answer questions,
• use Russian in a communication process on the daily topics,
• select and use medical terminology in communication with the patient, including collecting a history.

Competence

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply practically the acquired knowledge and skills in various communicative situations.
