To gain a knowledge about human being as a unified system; the role of genetic processes in the health preservation and metabolism; to create a background for specific knowledge in the medicine and skills to use it in everyday practice.


Knowledge of biology acquired within the framework of general secondary education.

Learning outcomes


The study course will give the students basic knowledge about cell functions and structure, cellular impairment role in human disease process. Major diversities in human ontogenesis. Inborn errors of metabolism. Types of inheritance.


Basic skills in light microscopy, preparation of samples for light microscopy. Students can identify different structures of cell, can describe oogenesis and spermatogenesis. Knows how to draw and draw pedigrees. Students can do elemnteray problem solving in genetics.
They different types of inheritance, can anylze them.


Students are able to anlyze simple situations in medical genetics. Students appreciate importance of organoids in function of organs and organ systems.
