About Study Course
Objective
Acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in clinical care, improvement of skills in performing procedures.
Prerequisites
General Pathology, Pathological Physiology, Infection Control in Care, Fundamentals of Clinical Care, Preclinical Practice.
Learning outcomes
Students will gain basic knowledge in patient care, about factors contributing to recovery. Will demonstrate orientation in the latest medical technologies used in clinical care.
Preparing and administering parenteral medications to the patient; provide intravenous access with sustained infusion equipment using appropriate equipment; perform procedures affecting the urogenital system (bladder catheterization, urogenital stomas and their types); perform procedures that involve respiratory tract manipulation (oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care); to perform surgical manipulations (sterile table application, minor surgical manipulations, immobilization); perform transfusion and document the performed procedures.
Ability to apply and evaluate appropriate clinical procedures, medical devices, and other activities to ensure optimal patient care. Ability to analyze situations, reason, formulate and explain one's point of view logically.
