Objective

To acquire knowledge about the basic principles of building therapeutic relationships, to promote the development of basic skills to use therapeutic communication, realizing individual-centered care.

Prerequisites

Psycho-social needs, Social psychology, Communication in health care, Transcultural care, Health care philosophy, Psychosomatic medicine, Stress management.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of learning the study course, students are able to demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of successful communication, the use of the conditions of the biopsychosocial model in contact with patients, the conditions for creating a therapeutic relationship and a therapeutic environment.

Skills

As a result of learning the study course, students are able to explain the patient's needs in communication, analyze and evaluate stress-related situations in patient care and develop an appropriate patient-centered relationship model.

Competence

As a result of learning the study course, students are able to combine theory and methods, analyzing the patient as a personality, assessing his needs in communication and generating the conditions for managing a therapeutic relationship.
