About Study Course
Objective
To develop a theoretical understanding of the indications and contraindications of physiotherapeutic methods in cases of various skin and sexually transmitted diseases, taking into account their epidemiology, etiology, knowing the clinics of diseases, principles of diagnosis and treatment. In practice, by analyzing the course of patients' illness and medical documents, to acquire skills in planning physiotherapeutic options.
Prerequisites
Biology, anatomy, histology, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, microbiology, propedeutics, pharmacology and internal diseases.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to recognize skin and sexually transmitted diseases and will characterize the peculiarities of their course in different age groups; will describe principles of diagnostics and differential diagnostics of skin and sexually transmitted diseases and develop skills in patient care; will record and describe up-to-date methods of medical examination and treatment in dermatology and venereology.
Students will be able to assess condition of the patient’s skin, recognize symptoms of skin and venereal diseases; analyze and correctly interpret obtained medical data and findings of examinations establishing necessity and possibility to apply physical therapy.
Cooperate with physicians, colleagues, patients and their family members on professional level; interpret findings of examinations and apply them in treatment; respect wishes of a patient and comply with the law.
