English in Rehabilitation (VC_039)
About Study Course
Objective
To enable students to operate in English in both academic and vocational settings concerning the field of physiotherapy.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of English language at the secondary school level.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• recognize professional terminology in different types of texts;
• recall professional terminology related to the field of physiotherapy;
• describe different phenomena in the field of physiotherapy using professional terminology in English.
Having completed the study course programme the student will be able to: skillfully use medical terms for professional purposes; to read professional literature for vocational needs; to provide instructions in the English language on health issues to patients /clients; to prepare a report and present it in the English language; prepare a summary /annotation of the article in the English language.
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to apply practically the acquired terminology in various communicative situations.
