Objective

The purpose of the training course is to give students knowledge about the normal functions of the human body, organ systems, individual organs, tissues and cells, as well as the necessary skills in evaluating organ functions - measuring blood pressure, palpating and evaluating the pulse, etc.

Prerequisites

High school course of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics and biology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

After successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
speek about the functioning of the organism and and to get aquainted with periods of individual development and changes in the organism related to growth, aging and environmental influence. Students must know about the normal function of organs and organism as well as how to differentiate normal functions from pathological ones, how to regulate organs for normalizing their functions.

Skills

Students should know how to apply their theoretical knowledge and how to use most common investigation methods in medicine.

Competence

During the independent work of practical lessons, students learn practical skills, get acquainted with health assessment methods, perform calculations and data processing independently. The task is to strengthen theoretical knowledge, to learn the methodology of assessing an individual's health.
