Student should acquire knowledge about diversity, formation, storage and sales conditions of health care goods, as well as about their role and importance in health care.


Human anatomy, physiology, biology, physics and chemistry.

Learning outcomes


Student will acquire basic knowledge in classification, assortment, raw materials of health care goods and will be able to see the connection between structure and properties, usage and storage in the result of acquirement of the course. Student will be able to describe the theoretical principles of operation of specific medical devices, will be able to describe differences in the use of different devices.


Student will be able to use the devices defined in the skill list. Student will be able to apply and recommend the most appropriate health care products for the individual patient – will be able to correctly measure blood pressure, use inhalers, spacers, insulin delivery devices, glucometers.


1. The student will be able to explain and show the patient the use of medical devices (inhalers, insulin delivery devices, glucometers).
2. The student will be able to assess the patient's ability to use the device for self-care and make recommendations for improving use.
