Objective

To get acquainted with the main problems of women's reproductive health during life, the role of monitoring pregnant women in maintaining the health of women and children, principles of postpartum care, including family planning, understanding the main examination methods in gynecology, surgeries in gynecology and obstetrics, patient preparation and postoperative period management principles.

Prerequisites

Human anatomy, physiology, pathological physiology, interpersonal communication in healthcare.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of the study course acquisition, students understand the main reproductive health problems in different periods of a woman's life, know the principles of prescribing medications in the pregnancy, can explain the main methods of examination and surgical treatment in gynaecology, are able to explain the principles of antenatal care, principles of non-infectious disease control and the main principles of postpartum period management.

Skills

As a result of the study course acquisition, students will be able to collect a gynaecological anamnesis, take cervical cytology, management of physiological labour and evaluate the newborn after birth.

Competence

To be a team member in women's reproductive health care.
