Objective

To provide knowledge about the structural elements of the body, their functions and regulatory mechanisms. To develop an understanding of the nature and expression of diverse physiological processes that are realised in interaction with the external environment. To pay special attention to the principles of the muscular and nervous system, as well as to the examination of the life-sustaining systems, to understand the regulation of the parameters of breathing, blood circulation, excretory system and the pathological process thereof.

Prerequisites

Human anatomy, biology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of completing the study course, the student acquires basic knowledge of physiological processes in a living organism, principles of regulation and mechanisms thereof.

Skills

As a result of completing the study course, the student will be able to perform basic physiological measurements. To apply the acquired knowledge in the further study process. To see the differences between normal and pathological processes, evaluate them. To apply knowledge in one’s practical activity.

Competence

The student will be able to use the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge, skilfully explaining and demonstrating various physiological actions in natural preparations and visual aids.
