Preliminary Knowledge:
Anatomy, functional and pathological physiology, supervision of physiological and pathological pregnancy, gynecology and care and nutrition of a healthy woman, interpersonal communication in healthcare, public health and epidemiology, care process in the practice of midwifery, basics of clinical care and clinical care in obstetrics and gynecology, gynecology, physiological obstetrics, pathological obstetrics
To prepare students for work associated with care in pathological obstetrics.

Assessment Criteria:
Assessment of Clinical Placement III is based on:  Performed manipulation sheet (Minimum requirements of education programmes require at least 40 supervised risk patients with provision of care (pregnant women, women in labour and women in postpartum period) and assistance with foetus in breech position in order to be awarded the professional qualification of a midwife. If this is not possible, skills must be acquired in simulated situations)  Placement diary  Assessment of the placement supervisor  Integrated questions on all course content

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Student will be able to describe the possible complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period, will know how to treat them. Student is able to outline the possible complications of newborns and the actions to be taken to prevent them.
Skills:Student will be able to collect the relevant information and provide the performance of laboratory tests to be carried out under doctor’s supervision and the most appropriate treatment to prevent complications, will be able to inform patients about the pharmacological potency of each medication, instructions of its use, provide psycho-emotional support to women and their family in the event of complications. Along with a gynecologist/obstetrician composes a complex childbirth management and care plan, by informing the woman in labour and involving her in decision-making.
Competencies:Using the acquired knowledge about the process of a pathological pregnancy and childbirth, student is able to differentiate between physiological and pathological childbirth process, analyse the obtained medical examination data.
