Objective

To give the opportunity to gain knowledge about the structure of the human body and to develop an understanding of the functions of organs systems, focusing on the organs of the head, neck and thoracic cavity.

Prerequisites

Knowledge in all disciplines of biology at the level of the secondary school programme.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Upon completion of the course the student will be able to determine systems of internal organs of the body and organs; will be able to describe their structure, topography and general functions; will know blood supply, innervation and lymphatic drainage of several organs of the head and neck; will know part of terminology in Latin.

Skills

The student will be able to recognise and show organs, their parts and other anatomical structures in teaching materials used in Anatomy studies.

Competence

The student will be able to work with special literature for advanced specialisation, will be able to use knowledge in the analysis of clinical examples.
