Before you leave home, please make sure you have arranged everything you need to move to Riga (e.g. visa, health insurance, travel, budget, bank cards, lab coats etc.).

Complete your payments by this date. All payments must be settled in order to prepare all your study related technical and documentation items (student ID, official enrolment documents, etc.).

Read the RSU Welcome Guide
You will find a lot of useful information in the Welcome Guide. Most questions that students ask during their first weeks of studies are already answered in this guide.

Getting to RSU
Getting to the university from Riga city centre is easy and takes only about 15 minutes. Check out the public transport options in Riga and our suggestions.

Read RSU policy
Please read the RSU Academic Regulations and RSU Internal Rules of Studies.

During Orientation Week you will be asked to confirm with your signature that you have read these documents and accept their terms.

27 January - 31 January

Pre-courses (optional): Chemistry / Biology / Physics

RSU Orientation Week will take place from Tuesday 4 February to Friday 7 February 2020. It is designed to introduce you to the University premises, your classmates, student life and Riga.

  • We expect you to arrive in Riga prior to 4 February so that you can participate in the various activities scheduled during Orientation Week
  • We strongly recommend that you participate in Orientation Week, although it is not compulsory
  • Below is the preliminary programme of Orientation Week
  • Before Orientation Week we will open a registration form for Orientation Week activities e.g. a film evening, a trip to Rundāle Palace, a tour of Old Riga, a Latvian food tasting event etc. All the information will be sent via e-mail (if you have submitted your application through an agency, please make sure that the university has your PRIVATE e-mail address!)
