November – January

Before you leave home, please make sure you have arranged everything you need to move to Riga (e.g., visa, health insurance, travel, budget, bank cards, labcoats etc.).

Settle Payments
Complete your payments by this date. All payments must be settled in order to prepare all your study related technical and documentation items (Student ID, official enrolment documents, etc.).

November – January

Arrange accommodation
Arrange a place to stay in Riga (details on the recommended hotels and hostels and tips for renting a private apartment).

22 January

Register your participation in the Orientation Week
In order to help us plan the Orientation Week, please fill out the arrival data form.

Prior to arrival

Read the RSU Welcome Guide
You will find a lot of useful information in the Welcome Guide. Most questions that students ask during their first weeks of studies are already answered in this guide.

Getting to RSU
Getting to the university from Riga city centre is easy and takes only about 15 minutes. Check the public transport options in Riga and our suggestions, etc.

Read RSU policy
Please read the RSU Academic Regulations and RSU Internal Rules of Studies.

During the Orientation Week you will be asked to confirm with your signature that you have read these documents and accept them.

The RSU Orientation Week is from Monday, 5 February till Friday, 9 February 2018. It is designed to introduce you to the University premises, your classmates, student life and Riga.

  • We expect you to arrive in Riga prior to 5 February, so that you can participate in the various activities scheduled during the Orientation Week
  • We strongly recommend that you participate in the Orientation Week, although it is not compulsory
  • Below is the preliminary programme of the Orientation Week
  • Before the Orientation Week we will open a registration form for the Orientation Week activities, e.g., movie event, trip to Rundāle Palace, the Old Riga tour, the Latvian food tasting etc. All the information will be sent via e-mail

Academic Calendar
