Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
No prior knowledge of China is required, the course is organised accordingly, initially providing students with a general knowledge platform on the PRC and then focusing on specific PRC foreign and security policy considerations at the global and regional level.
Objective:
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and understanding of the constituent elements of the foreign policy and strategic communication of the People's Republic of China - PRC history concepts, internal policy issues, identity, foreign policy discourse and other aspects that must be taken into account when analyzing China and its activities in international politics. The course is implemented by lecturer Mārtiņš Daugulis, who developed and defended the dissertation on the elements of the PRC's foreign policy discourse.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Independent work - preparation for seminar classes, independent reading, preparing a report, exam preparation.All presentations shown during studies will be available to students.
Assessment Criteria:
To get the final rating, students should: 1. Increased all seminars, also submitting the material developed during the seminar. 2. Submit the report. 3. Must pass an exam.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:During the course, students will be aware of the elements of the foreign policy and strategic communication of the People's Republic of China - the concepts of the PRC history, the problem of domestic politics, the identity, the foreign policy discourse and other aspects to take into account when analyzing China and its activities in international politics.
Skills:After successful completion of the course, students will also be able to work with information that is formed in another political discourse.
Competencies:After the course, students will be able to objectively analyze interdisciplinary relationships - formats, official communications and political positions of foreign policy cooperation.
