A delegation from Turkmenistan visited the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 11 – 12 November to take part in a two-day seminar ‘Understanding the development and applications of Registration Systems within the Latvian Health System’ that organised by the faculty.

The Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare at RSU was appointed to become a Collaborating Centre for Health Professional Education of the World Health Organisation (WHO) at the beginning of 2019. The seminar took place within the frame of the functions of the WHO Centre.

During the meeting representatives from RSU, WHO, the Ministry of Health, the Latvian Health Inspectorate, the Centre of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases at Riga East Clinical University Hospital, and the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Management of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis shared their knowledge and experience.

The representatives from Turkmenistan expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from Latvia’s experience, appreciated the organisation of the seminar and the significant practical contribution.
