Recognition

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been recognised as the university with the best reputation in Latvia for the eighth year in a row. Data shows that RSU has maintained and further strengthened its position as having the reputation both in society and among young people. RSU stands out among other higher education institutions for its quality of education and the practical knowledge and skills it provides. A degree from the university is regarded highly in the job market.

We care about our reputation. The continuous increase in the number of applicants – both local and international – shows that our brand is effective. There has been an upward trend every year since 2018 and the number of applicants increases by 10-15% per year. This shows that the content of our study programmes is of high quality, pertinent, and in line with the content offered by leading European higher education institutions. This allows our graduates to feel confident about their future in the job market. I am glad that RSU's determination is recognised and appreciated by our prospective students, their families, and Latvia as a whole.

Ratings of the attractiveness of RSU's reputation and competence are consistently high and consistent among the general population and young people. Compared to the average of the universities in the study, RSU's reputation was rated significantly higher this year as well. This year, RSU scored 75, which is six points higher than in 2017 when the research company Kantar first started monitoring universities' reputation. This score exceeds the Latvian average for the overall reputation of institutes of higher education, which is 60 among the under-60 age group, and 58 points among young people. RSU's reputation scores 76 index points among young people.

The reputation survey was carried out this winter by research company Kantar, who conducted an extensive survey of more than 1,000 people from Latvia aged 15 - 60, with a targeted sub-group of 15 – 26-year-olds (this is a representative sample for the general population in the given age group).
