On Saturday, 26th of November, the Riga Stradiņš University will be visited by the professor Yael Netz from the Wingate Institute (Israel) who specializes in gerontology and has elaborated a programme at the College for Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Wingate Institute for promoting physical activities for elderly people. The research conducted by the professor deals with the relationship between physical activity and cognitive functioning for older adults.
From 23rd to 25th of November, 2016 Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the 6th international interdisciplinary scientific conference Society. Health. Welfare with this year’s theme Living in the World of Diversity. Social Transformations, Innovations, Solutions.
In the days to come wider public will be introduced to a unique and inspirational publication “The Treasures of Latvia. Outstanding Export Brands and Inspiring Stories”, a truly revelatory collection of the most outstanding national export brands, natural phenomena, inspiring culture and sports personalities – among other things, the book also contains an inspirational story about Rīga Stradiņš University which was recognised one of the most successful local exporting brands of 2015 being awarded “The Reds Jackets” award.
Rīga Stradiņš University will be hosting the Health Day for the second time on 10 November. RSU students, academic and administrative staff are encouraged to donate blood and have their health condition checked-up by future practitioners.
Head of Mission, Embassy of Korea, congratulates RSU folk dancers on achievements in international festival
Earlier this month, Head of Mission Mr Kyong-Ho Min met with representatives of Rīga Stradiņš University folk dance ensemble “Ačkups” Ms Olga Boka and Mr Kārlis Rācenis at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Latvia to congratulate them on winning the third place at the Cheonan World Dance Festival 2016, held in the Republic of Korea earlier this autumn.
