The Chapter of Orders has awarded the highest decorations of the Latvian state – the Order of the Three Stars, the Order of Viesturs, and the Cross of Recognition – to several representatives of various fields before the national holiday on 4 May.
Anda Jansone, a paediatrician, lecturer at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), and chair of the board of the Children's Palliative Care Society, was appointed a Bearer of the Order of the Three Stars.
The highest Latvian state decorations are conferred on those whose honest professional and public work, active civic stance, selflessness, and patriotism strengthen our Latvia and are worthy of the highest recognition and honour.

The awards will be presented on the 34th anniversary of the restoration of independence of the Republic of Latvia – on 4 May 2024 at 15.00 at the Riga Castle. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Latvian Television Channel 1.
