For Students

The new semester at Rīga Stradiņš University’s (RSU) has officially commenced, and with it, iBVC (International Beach Volleyball Club) wasted no time in restarting their events. Their first event was the Welcome Tournament that took place last weekend, on 17 September, and it took place at an indoor sandy beach volleyball court.

Over 40 enthusiastic students joined the event, and brought a competitive spirit. To ensure fairness and inclusivity, the teams were selected thoughtfully to feature a mix of players ranging from beginners to intermediates and even seasoned pros – 12 teams with 3 players in each ended up competing. This approach made sure that every participant had an equal opportunity to enjoy the games and have the chance to win. The suspense reached its climax as the top three teams emerged, securing not just bragging rights but also glistening medals that served as tokens of their hard-earned triumph.

However, the excitement wasn't confined to the volleyball courts alone. iBVC spiced things up by organising a mouth-watering food competition where participants could showcase their culinary skills in a spirited showdown. A coveted prize awaited the ultimate culinary champion. IBVAC food 2023

For those who missed out on this fun event, there's no need to despair. The semester promises even more opportunities to play and win. The team behind iBVC is already in full swing, diligently planning the next tournament scheduled for October. And here's the exciting twist: it's going to be a spooktacular Halloween-themed extravaganza, promising chills and thrills both on and off the court.

In the meantime, follow iBVC on Instagram and Facebook to learn about upcoming events.
